The relationship between the buildings and the spaces which they define is expressed in the urban design – where the buildings perform as a background for the open spaces and thus define them. The distances kept between the buildings allow a good accessibility, privacy and views. When planning a residential neighborhood, emphasis is put on separating the pedestrians from the motor vehicles. In every plan, areas are allocated for roads, green spaces, buildings and parking lots as well as for public buildings.
